Brick Road searched the world to find the best maltster to create this exceptional hopped wort. Only the finest grains are selected and malted. Malts are blended to suit the beer style, then mashed with hop extracts to create hopped wort. The fresh wort is gently reduced to 80 Brix before being canned fresh on-site to retain its original delicious malt flavours.
Additional Ingredients Required:
For the Brick Road NZ Pilsner (Craft brew), we recommend you add 1.5kg Brick Road Extra Light malt extract.
Optional Ingredients:
For even more aroma and flavour, add up to 200g of tropical fruity hops like Motueka, Galaxy, Riwaka, Nelson Sauvin.
Looking for a food match? The Brick Road NZ Pilsner Goes Well With…
1. Whitebait Fritters: A classic Kiwi delicacy, these light and delicate fritters will complement the pilsner’s bready malt base and not overpower the subtle hop flavors.
2. Grilled Salmon: The oily richness of salmon, especially when grilled with a squeeze of lemon, pairs beautifully with the tropical and citrus hop notes, while the beer’s clean bitterness cuts through the fat.
3. Green Lipped Muscles: Steamed in a simple broth, possibly with a touch of garlic and parsley, these mussels will highlight the pilsner’s lemon and tropical aromas.
4. Fish and Chips: A New Zealand staple, the crispness of the NZ Pilsner and clean bitterness make it a perfect match for cutting through the greasiness of battered and fried fish and chips.
5. Kumara Chips: Sweet potato fries, or kumara chips, offer a sweet contrast that will complement the pilsner’s passionfruit and lemon hop characteristics.
