Only the finest grains are selected and malted. Malts are blended to suit the beer style, then mashed with hop extracts to create hopped wort. The fresh wort is gently reduced to 80 Brix before being canned fresh on-site to retain its original delicious malt flavours.
What is a French Saison?
A French Saison is a style of beer that originates from the farmhouses of the Wallonia region in Belgium and France. The term “Saison” means “season” in French, which is fitting as these beers were traditionally brewed in the cooler, less active farming months and then consumed during the busy summer to quench the thirst of farm workers.
The style is versatile and can vary widely, but it maintains a balance between yeast-driven flavors, hop bitterness, and a subtle malt backbone. This makes it both a distinctive and highly drinkable beer

Looking for a food match? The Brick Road French Saison Craft Beer Kit Goes Well With…
1. Green Lipped Muscles: Steamed with a bit of garlic and herbs, the sweet and briny flavors of the mussels would be enhanced by the saison’s spicy and fruity notes.
2. Fresh Snapper: A freshly caught snapper, simply grilled and served with a squeeze of lemon, would pair beautifully with the clean and crisp profile of the saison.
3. Pork Belly: Slow-roasted pork belly with a crispy skin could highlight the saison’s ability to cut through the fat and balance the richness of the pork.
4. Chicken and Leek Sausages: These sausages, a staple in many New Zealand homes, would work well with the peppery notes of the saison.
5. Pavlova: Pavlova, especially topped with kiwifruit, could be a refreshing match for the saison, with its crisp acidity playing off the sweet meringue and cream.
