How much beer of cider will a home brewing kit make?
It does depend on the specific malt kit you are using but generally one brew will make 23litres and will produce 24-28 750ml bottles of finished product.
That's the equivalent of 4-5 dozen 330ml bottles.
How long does it take to make a brew of beer or cider?
We generally allow 30-45 minutes to put a brew on which includes cleaning the equipment and mixing the ingredients in the fermenter.
Depending on what you are making, the fermentation process generally takes around 8-14 days. We would allow around 2 hours to bottle your brew.
Once bottled you will leave your brew to mature. We always suggest leaving your beer for 4-6 weeks or cider 10-days to mature.
What type of beer or cider can I make?
From Pilsners to Porters, Lagers to Stouts, IPAs to APA, a Pale Ale or even a Mexican Cerveza – you can use any malt extract beer kit with this equipment.
If you are brewing cider we offer a range of kits to make classic Apple Cider through to craft flavours like Raspberry and Lime or Mixed Berry Cider
How good will the beer or cider be that I make?
The home brewing starter kits we offer are entry level kits designed for beginners and kit brewers – but it’s quality equipment that can produce good beer that you would happily share with your friends and family.
Keep in mind that brewing isn’t just about the equipment; it’s about the quality of the kits that you are using and your brewing process – all of these factors can affect the quality of your final product.
If I buy a beer starter kit can I make cider using the same equipment?
You can use the same equipment from the beer starter kit to make cider, or the same equipment from the cider kit to make beer.
You will need to make sure you properly clean your equipment with cleaning agents designed for brewing to ensure you remove residue from the brew.
