Black Rock Dry Lager is a crisp and refreshing beer with a light body and a smooth, clean finish. It is brewed using high-quality ingredients and traditional brewing methods to create a well-balanced and flavorful beer. The lager features a blend of premium malts and hops that combine to create a crisp, dry flavor with just the right amount of bitterness.

With its crisp, clean taste, the Black Rock Dry Lager is the perfect choice for a summer day or any occasion where you want to enjoy a refreshing beer. It has a moderate alcohol content (Target ABV 4.5%), making it a great option for those who are looking to enjoy a beer without the strong, heavy flavors of some other beers. Whether you’re a seasoned beer drinker or just starting out, the Black Rock Dry Lager is sure to impress with its delicious taste and easy-drinking style.

Additional Ingredients Required:

For fermentation you will also require 1kg of dextrose. As an alternative to dextrose consider Liquid Brewing Sugar to reduce the sweet finish and improve the mouthfeel of your brew. Using the Mangrove Jacks Dry Enzyme will give you a cleaner dry finish with either of these two product.

Liquid Malt will give you a smoother mouthfeel and more body and this is a flexible kit that will work well with a few styles of liquid malt extract depending on the finish you want.

Try a Black Rock Blonde Liquid Malt Extract which is well suited to the dry finish or for a lighter colour and more delicate malt character use the Ultra Light LME.

Premium Yeast Options:

The Black Rock Dry Lager does come with style appropriate yeast. Selecting a premium yeast can give you more flexibility when brewing in ambient temperatures and can improve the quality of your final product or support unique flavour characteristics.

We’ve made this brew with the Mangrove Jacks M54 Californian lager yeast which ferments close to ale temperatures at 18-20 degrees and has an exceptionally clean finish. Black Rock also suggest using the SafAle US-05 which, although is an ale yeast, has proven to be an exceptionally diverse and will introduce a subtle citrus note to the brew.

If you use a premium yeast you would discard the factory yeast.
